Energy for Alaska
  • Start of production planned for 2017
  • Exploration activities proceeding as planned

Luxembourg, 7 October 2016: Drilling of the second and final natural gas well planned by the Deutsche Oel & Gas Group for 2016 has got off to a successful start in South Alaska. The current drilling depth is approx. 2,100 feet, and the well is expected to reach the target depth of around 7,100 feet (equivalent to about 2,100 metres) in just two weeks.

The specialists from Deutsche Oel & Gas Group’s subsidiary Furie Operating Alaska, LLC are also working very closely on site with the authorities involved on this project, which is extremely important for the entire region – including the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC), which carries out tests on the drilling platform Randolph Yost at regular intervals.

“Our exploration activities are proceeding according to plan. We are optimistic that we will be able to prove further extensive natural gas reserves. To date, the results have consistently exceeded our expectations,” said Kay Rieck, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deutsche Oel & Gas S.A.
