Energy for Alaska

Drill depth in around two weeks: 13,000 feet – great strides made in Deutsche Oel & Gas development region in Alaska.

After resuming its work at the beginning of May, the Spartan 151 drilling platform is expected to reach a depth of around 13,000 feet (about 3,960 metres) in as little as around two weeks with the first drill.

Once the drilling depth of 13,000 feet has been reached, the Spartan 151 crew will install the necessary casing and create an additional log-in, before drilling down further to the target depth. The target depth is scheduled to be reached by the end of July. The specialists from our subsidiary Furie Operating Alaska are working very closely with the authorities involved on this project, which is extremely important for the entire region – this includes the Alaska Oil and Gas Conser-vation Commission (AOGCC), which carries out tests at regular intervals.

In order to achieve the best possible results and ensure the highest possible level of safety, the experts from the AOGCC consult almost weekly with the experts from Deutsche Oel & Gas on the drilling platform.
