Energy for Alaska

The highlights of 2013 were the third well, which has the potential to be the most successful well in the entire Cook Inlet, and the fourth well, which is set to be one of the deepest in the entire Cook Inlet.

The 2013 drilling season was the most successful to date in the short history of Deutsche Oel & Gas (DOGAG), an oil and gas producer operating in Alaska. Current findings suggest that the third well, KLU#3, has the potential to be the most successful well in the entire Cook Inlet. Proven daily production was much higher than the original assumptions, as were the commercially re-coverable natural gas reserves.

Due to the unusually rapid completion of the third well, the fourth well, KLU#4, in the North Block was given the green light several weeks earlier than planned. The fourth well is expected to be one of the deepest in the entire Cook Inlet. The plan is to tap into as many natural gas and crude oil formations as possible here. The interim target depth is expected to be reached by the end of April 2014. This will be followed by extensive testing to determine the exact potential. Deutsche Oel & Gas is on track with its overall planning, and has far exceeded expectations in terms of results. The Kitchen Lights Unit is therefore developing much better than anticipated. It is ex-pected that a depth of 9,000 feet (around 3,000 metres) will be reached by the winter break.
